Tillamook Baked Apple Pie Yogurt

I saw Tillamook’s Baked Apple Pie yogurt on the shelf the other day, so I of course had to try some. A lot of yogurt companies try to replace our pie fixes with pie-flavored yogurt (like those Yoplait commercials that are on all the time), and commonly we see Key Lime or Boston Cream offered, but I had never seen someone shoot for Apple Pie. Needless to say, I was intrigued by the prospect.

Since it was Tillamook, Oregon’s favorite dairy and cheese producers, I figured I’d better give it a try.

Sadly, I am not digging it as a pie replacement, nor as a yogurt. At times I got the essence of apple pie filling, but the rest of the time it kind of just seemed like some cinnamon apple sauce mixed with yogurt. It seemed to have more of an apple cider flavor than an apple pie flavor, too.

I even tried throwing in some Grape Nuts (this is what I do with Tillamook’s Oregon Strawberry yogurt, which is awesome) to add some crunchiness and to perhaps simulate pie crust, but it still didn’t do it for me.
