It’s the most wonderful time of the year! National Pie Day, coming to us courtesy of the American Pie Council, is this Saturday, January 23.
Here in Portland, the Oregonian has offered up some excellent recommendations for how you can celebrate, including Random Order Coffeehouse, Baker & Spice (who are offering pie by the slice on Saturday, which they don’t normally do), Banning’s, and Pacific Pie Co.
Shari’s restaurants across the Northwest are also offering a free slice with the purchase of an entree for it’s Facebook and e-mail friends (although, if you visit this link, it seems you may be able to cheat the system).
I also got an e-mail from Marie Callendar’s, who are offering the same deal, here’s the link.
The American Pie Council also has a list of some pie day events taking place across the country.
Is anyone else doing pie promotions for National Pie Day? Pie-tasters – what are you doing to celebrate?
If you’re looking for somewhere to get pie near you, check out our National Pie Map. It’s a work in progress, so if you don’t see your favorite pie joint on there, e-mail me at makesomepie@gmail.com.
